Our model of the CANT Z511 — the Italian long-range flying boat originally conceived for intercontinental transport and later proposed as a military platform — is the first and only scale model of this aircraft ever produced, in any scale.
This version imagines the CANT Z511 in a “what-if” military configuration, had it been deployed as a maritime attack aircraft during World War II. Originally designed as a long-range flying boat for civilian and military use, the CANT Z511 never saw significant action, but its potential as a versatile aircraft with both reconnaissance and attack capabilities was evident. Had it been fully utilized during the war, it could have played a crucial role in maritime patrols and torpedo attacks, contributing to naval combat strategies.
The kit is printed using high-resolution LCD technology from smooth gray resin that closely mimics the properties of plastic. It is easy to sand, scribe, and detail, and requires virtually no surface preparation.
The military version includes a fully modeled internal torpedo bay, with two Maiale manned torpedoes positioned inside — reflecting the potential for this flying boat to carry out underwater assault missions. The design is carefully adapted to represent a plausible military application of the Z511.
For the cockpit, we’ve provided one vac-formed canopy, along with a blister and turret glass, to give the model an authentic military look and feel.
The model is designed for easy assembly, with parts that fit together precisely, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable build. One metal rod is included to reinforce the wing structure, giving it added stability.
